Letter from the Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers,
We welcome you to East Cowton Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School.
We hope that you will enjoy reading our website, where you will find out more about how the school operates, its aims, its philosophy and how we intend to give your child the best education we can offer. Our school is situated in the delightful village of East Cowton approximately eight miles in between Northallerton and Darlington. Children attend our school from many of the neighbouring villages.
We are lucky to have a strong team of dedicated staff, supportive and committed Governors and an active Friends Association, to which all parents are invited. Throughout the year they help us in many different ways by organising and arranging a range of social and fundraising events. If you are a prospective parent, we welcome the opportunity of showing you around our school, where I am sure you will find a very friendly, caring and co-operative atmosphere that benefits us all.
The school was inspected in July 2007; Ofsted found standards across the school to be “good with many outstanding features”.
